A BRIEF HISTORY...
about the owner
Jay is a recording artist, music producer, and audio engineer. He was born and raised in Rockford IL. As a child Jay had a huge imagination and loved building and creating things. He would often take toys apart and mix and match them to create new toys. He also took common household items apart and put them back together just to see how it it worked.
From the age of 9-13 Jay took guitar lessons and sung in his church choir. Jay loved music but never took it seriously until his first year of high school. That’s when he started experimenting with sampled loops and recording his own songs. During his senior year of high school Jay took a long hiatus from music and began focusing on creating and producing documentary videos after taking a video production class.
After Jay Graduated high school he became interested with music again. He moved to Chicago and attended the Illinois Institute to Art to pursue an recording career. After about 2 years he transferred to Columbia College to surround himself in a better creative environment. During this time he began recording and mixing music for other artists: recording different genres of music: Hip Hop, Jazz, Rock & R&b Just to name a few. On May 2019 Jay graduated Columbia College Chicago and received a bachelor degree in Audio Design & Production. After receiving his degree Jay moved back to Rockford Illinois and opened Bedroom Studios.

- We specialize in mixing and mastering and have a great selection of microphones to choose from, as well as high-quality mixing tools. Our room is acoustically tuned and treated, so we can record great sounding music, and create pristine quality mix-downs.
- Already have your song recorded and need a professional mix down? We provide that too! Just send us the multi-tracks (Individual recordings for each track: drums, guitar vocals etc…) and we’ll run it through our ears, gear and clean it up, so it can sound professional.
